About me
As a Research Cyberinfrastructure Specialist, my job is to help researchers with bioinformatics and computational biology work.
I currently lead the Bioinformatics Research Support Service, which aims to expand cyberinfrastructure and computational biology research endeavors at UW-Madison. Since establishing the program in late 2023, I have helped a hundred scientists across >25 departments on campus, and have contributed towards filling a gap in domain-relevant computational research support.
I work with researchers throughout the life cycle of their projects, from experimental design to data analysis and publication. Through these scientific collaborations, I teach them the use of campus-level computing resources (such as high-throughput computing, data movement, data storage, etc.) and best practices in the implementation of bioinformatics workflows and interpretation of the resulting data.
I also actively collaborate with campus partners such as our computing center and campus or college IT to provide and implement shared computing solutions.
Previously, I obtained a PhD, MS, and BS and developed expertise across the fields of microbiology, genomics, environmental sciences, and bioinformatics.
